Way darker than expected

The price and quality are very nice but my glasses turned out to be so dark that I can hardly see in bright daylight. I measured the transmission for red light using optical lab equipment and it’s only about 5%. About three times less than the 15% listed on the website.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm the senior optician here at E-optician and I've just double checked your order. The pre-shipment QC report does indicate the transmittance of 15% which is our standard Cat 3 sun lens light transmission. However, we are referring to all light spectrum (real life experience) combined and not just 'red light'. If you only measure the red light (long wavelength) transmission, it will naturally be much lowered, not to mention you have a brown lens.

For your information, we can only provide lenses with transmission above 10%, under which will be illegal for driving in some countries. We will normally approach customer to get a disclaimer before we go that dark. But I don't see any record of such in your order.

In case you have a chance to check transmission again with full light spectrum, can you please email the report to cs@e-optician.com? I'll then see what remedy we can offer.

Chance of this large deviation from our light transmission standard is very slim though. Anyway, hope to hear from you.
